MODEL:
2004 Galant

SUBJECT:
HEADLINER SAGGING AT REAR OF SUNROOF

PURPOSE

The headliner on some vehicles may come loose from the sunroof trim at the rear of the sunroof. This condition is typically due to air buffeting behind
the headliner when the vehicle is moving with the sunroof in the fully open position.

Follow the procedures in this bulletin to install Dual-Lock fastener to repair this Condition and prevent it from reoccurring.

AFFECTED VEHICLES
2004 Galant models equipped with sunroof

PROCEDURE

1.

If the headliner is sagging, reposition it under the sunroof trim. Ensure that there is sufficient headliner overlap (at least 6 mm) at the rear of the
sunroof trim as follows:

a.

Gently peel back the rear edge of the sunroof trim.

b.

Measure the sunroof trim overlap at the edge of the headliner.

^

If the overlap is at least 6 mm, the overlap is sufficient. Go to Step 2 for Dual-Lock installation.

^

If the overlap is less than 6 mm, continue with Step c. below to move the headliner forward before installing the Dual-Lock.
