WHEEL BEARING INSPECTION FRONT
SERVICE CAMPAIGN BULLETIN

PURPOSE

This service campaign bulletin contains information concerning a product upgrade relating to the front wheel bearing support assemblies.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Condition

Some vehicles in the affected production date range may have front wheel bearing supports which were machined slightly out of specification for proper
alignment to the knuckle. As a product improvement upgrade to ensure long-term durability, dealers should inspect all affected vehicles as described in
this bulletin. Replace any front wheel bearing support unit that is out of specification, using the new, improved parts listed in this bulletin.

Customer Notification

A letter will be sent to all registered owners, asking them to return their vehicle to their Mitsubishi dealer for inspection and possible repair.

Dealer Action Summary

Check the VIN number of each affected vehicle to verify that this service campaign applies. For all affected vehicles, both unsold dealership inventory
and sold customer vehicles, inspect the front wheel bearing support units as instructed in this bulletin. If a bearing unit is out of specification, install the
hub/bearing/rotor assembly kit listed in the PARTS INFORMATION section of this bulletin. The hub/bearing/rotor is assembled together as a matched
set to minimize runout.

Contact any purchasers of recently sold vehicles and ask them bring their vehicle in for inspection. Recent vehicle sales may not have been registered in
time for the customer to receive the notification letter.

AFFECTED VEHICLES

This campaign affects the following vehicles:

2004 Eclipse built between 1/2/04 and 2/18/04

^

2004 Eclipse Spyder built between 1/2/04 and 2/18/04

^

2004 Galant models equipped with 2.4L MIVEC engine built between 12/16/03 and 2/18/04

Before starting this campaign procedure, CHECK ON THE WARRANTY SUPER SCREEN to verify that the vehicle is an affected VIN for this
campaign and that this campaign procedure has not already been completed.

Perform this procedure on both left and right front wheel bearings:
