REMOVAL SERVICE POINTS
[[A]] NEGATIVE (-) BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION
DANGER: Wait at least 60 seconds after disconnecting the battery cable before doing any further work (Refer to Service Precautions).
WARNING: Battery posts, terminals and related accessories contain lead and lead compounds. WASH HANDS AFTER HANDLING.
Disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery and tape the terminal to prevent accidental connection and deployment.
[[B]] SRS-ECU REMOVAL
Remove the SRS-ECU with 9.5 (3/8 inch) sq. slide head handle and 9.5 sq. (3/8 inch) socket wrench.
INSTALLATION SERVICE POINTS
]]A[[ SRS-ECU INSTALLATION
WARNING: The SRS may not activate if the SRS-ECU is not installed properly, which could result in serious injury or death to the vehicle's
driver or front passenger.
Install the SRS-ECU with 9.5 sq. (3/8 inch) slide head handle and 9.5 sq. (3/8 inch) socket wrench.
]]B[[ POST-INSTALLATION INSPECTION
1. Reconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
2. Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position.
3. Does the "SRS" warning light illuminate for approximately seven seconds, and then go out?
4. If yes, the SRS system is functioning properly. If not, refer to Supplemental Inflatable Restraint Lamp/Indicator/Testing and
Inspection/Procedures/SRS Warning Light Check.
