PURPOSE

This bulletin contains information on two new Essential Special Tools now being added to your inventory. One of these is a set of quick-connect
couplers with check valves that allow the fuel pressure gauge to be removed from the system even with the engine running without losing fuel or stalling
the engine. The second is an extension which allows the technician to read fuel system pressures from behind the wheel of the vehicle.

NEW FUEL PRESSURE GAUGE COUPLERS

The new couplers replace the ones on your existing Fuel Pressure Test Adapters. You must replace the existing quick-disconnect couplers with these new
ones in order to be able to use the new Extension.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

1.

Remove the old male quick-disconnect couplers from the two Fuel Pressure Test Adapters (Fig. 2).

2.

Remove the old female quick-disconnect coupler from the Fuel Pressure Gauge (Fig. 3).

3.

Install the two new male couplers to the Adapters, and install the new female couplers to the Pressure Gauge.

WARNING:

Due to the pressure in the fuel system, a small amount of fuel can spray when the pressure gauge is disconnected. A shop towel held
around the joint can catch the fuel and avert a potential fire hazard.

Avoid smoking when performing these tests.
NEW PRESSURE GAUGE EXTENSION

A new pressure gauge extension allows you to read fuel system pressure from the driver's seat of the car. Please use it with the fuel pressure gauge
