Throttle Position Sensor: Description and Operation
The throttle position sensor, is a rotating type resistor that rotates together with the throttle body throttle shaft to sense the throttle valve angle. As the
throttle shaft rotates, the output voltage of the TPS changes and the ECU detects the throttle valve opening based on the change of the voltage. Based on
this output voltage, the ECU computes throttle valve opening change and judges the engine acceleration state and accordingly corrects fuel injection
amount during acceleration.
