Starter Motor: Service and Repair
REMOVAL
1.
Disconnect battery ground cable.
2.
Remove air cleaner assembly, if applicable.
3.
Disconnect starter cables.
4.
Remove starter mounting bolts and the starter.
INSTALLATION
1.
Before mounting starter, clean the mating surfaces of starter and the engine.
2.
Install starter and torque mounting bolts to 20-23 ft. lbs.
3.
Install air cleaner assembly, if applicable.
4.
Connect starter cables and battery ground cable.
