WIND NOISE AT COWL AREA
PURPOSE
Some affected vehicles may experience wind noise in the right or left side cowl area. The noise is typically due to lack of sealant at the lower tip of the
A-pillar or a loose tape plug underneath the door upper and lower hinges.
This bulletin describes how to apply sealant to these areas In order to reduce or prevent the noise.
AFFECTED VEHICLES
1999 Galant models produced before 11/98
PROCEDURE
1.
Inspect the lower A-pillar in the area shown for lack of sealant.
2.
If there is no sealant in the area shown, clean the area with isopropyl alcohol. Then fill in the hole with clear RTV silicone sealant.
