The hands-free controls are located on the dashboard above the radio. The microphone is located on the lower area of the driver's side 'A' pillar.

OUTLANDER AND ALL LANCER BASED MODELS:

Vehicles pre-wired for hands-free operation, are equipped with steering wheel mounted controls. Some vehicles may have controls on the steering wheel,
but still need additional equipment for hands-free operation. If there are no controls on the steering wheel, the vehicle is not pre-wired for hands-free.

To determine if a vehicle is hands-free equipped, press the talk button on the steering wheel and listen for a voice prompt. If one is not heard, check for
other hands-free equipment to confirm installation. Turn the dome light on and look through the area where the microphone should be. If light is visible
across the entire width of the opening, there is no microphone and the vehicle is not equipped for hands-free operation.

the Hands-free System Information Sheet from the end of this TSB.

If, after discussing the concern with a JCI customer service representative, it is determined there is a concern with the vehicle or its components, they
will give the caller a six-digit case number, authorizing dealer repairs.

after following these suggestions, contact JCI for further suggestions.

For vehicle or system diagnosis, the dealer or customer must first contact Johnson Controls Inc. (JCI) and obtain a case number prior to the start of
warranty repairs.
