Side Air Bag Module

SIDE AIR BAG MODULE

CAUTION:  Never disassemble the air bag module. 

The side air bag module consists of an air bag, air bag cover, inflator and their fasteners. The modules are installed in the outer side supports of the
driver's and front passenger's seatbacks. The side air bags help project the occupants regardless of the seat position and seatback angle.

AIR BAG

The side air bag made of nylon fabric with the inside surface coated with rubber. The air bags are compactly folded and stored under the cover. On the
side of the air bag, there are holes through which gas is partially released to alleviate shock to the occupant when the air bag is deployed. An inflator that
does not contain sodium azide has been adopted.

AIR BAG COVER

The air bag cover is made of plastic-coated, flame-retardant paper. The cover has a perforated line from which it breaks when the air bag is inflated and
deployed.
