before drying or baking vehicle after painting.
9. Do not paint air bag to correct cosmetic flaws. Replacement is necessary to correct such flaws.
10. Inspect SRS warning lamp operation to ensure system is functioning properly when service is complete.
ARMING
1. Ensure no one is inside vehicle.
2. Connect battery ground cable and start engine.
3. Ensure SRS warning lamp lights for approximately seven seconds, then goes off and remains off for at least 45 seconds.
4. If lamp operates as described, SRS is functioning properly.
5. If lamp does not operate as described, an SRS malfunction is indicated. Diagnose and repair as necessary.
DISARMING
1. Turn ignition switch to Lock position.
2. Disconnect and isolate battery ground cable.
3. Wait at least 60 seconds after disconnection before performing repair procedures. The SRS is designed to retain enough deployment voltage
for a short time even after battery has been disconnected.
