Oil Pump: Service and Repair

    To remove oil pump pickup, refer to OIL PAN.

1.

Remove timing case as outlined under TIMING CASE.

2.

Remove oil pump cover, then drive and driven gears from front case.

3.

Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Lubricate oil pump internal components with engine oil prior to installation.
b. Align drive and driven gear timing marks as shown, Fig. 35.
c. Tighten oil pump cover bolt to specifications.
d. Ensure oil pump gears rotate smoothly.
