EGR Temperature Sensor: Description and Operation
EGR Temperature Sensor
The EGR Temperature Sensor serves to verify EGR Valve operation. This is done by monitoring the exhaust passage temperature downstream of the
EGR valve. To confirm that the EGR valve is functioning properly, the ECU expects to see an increase in temperature at the EGR temperature sensor
whenever the EGR valve is commanded to be operating. In the event of a malfunction, the ECU will set a code and turn the Check Engine Light "on".
