Clutch Pedal Assembly: Adjustments

1.

Measure distance between upper surface of floor board and top of clutch pedal. Pedal height should be 6.2-6.4 inches for Mirage and 7.4-7.6
inches for Precis.

If clutch pedal height is not as specified in step 1, check pedal stopper of pedal support member for deterioration. Repair as required.

3.

Measure clutch pedal freeplay ``B,'' Fig. 1. Freeplay should be .8-1.2 inch.

If freeplay is not as specified in step 3, turn outer cable adjusting nut at the bulkhead in engine compartment and adjust clutch cable freeplay ``C''
to .20-.25 inch, Fig. 2.

5.

After adjusting pedal freeplay, depress clutch pedal several times, then with pedal fully depressed check clutch pedal to floor board clearance.
Clearance should be 3.1 inch or more for Mirage.

6.

Clutch pedal stroke should equal 5.7 inches for Precis.

7.

If clutch pedal clearance is not as specified in step 5 or if clutch pedal stroke is not as specified in step 6, clutch assembly is defective. Repair
clutch assembly as required.
