SELECT CABLE ADJUSTMENT

1.

Inside the engine compartment, place the transmission shift lever in the Neutral position. In Neutral, the lever is horizontal. See Fig. 2

NOTE:

When the shift lever is put in Neutral, the transmission select lever is also put in Neutral.

Inside the car, disconnect the select cable to allow the spring to center the select lever in the Neutral position. Fig. 3.

Turn the adjuster until the select cable eye just slides over the pin on the lever See Fig. 4.

Tighten the adjuster lock nuts and Install the cable retaining clip.
