Catalytic Converter: Testing and Inspection
1.
Remove the catalytic converter from the vehicle.
2.
Inspect the visible internal portions of the catalytic converter for signs of melting or damage due to afterfiring.
3.
Gently shake the catalytic converter and listen for signs of loose internal components.
4.
If either of the above conditions are found replace the converter.
