Engine Coolant Temperature Switch (A/C): Testing and Inspection

1.

Remove coolant temperature sensor.

2.

Measure resistance with temperature sensing portion of coolant temperature sensor immersed in hot water. Do not allow temperature sensing
portion to come in direct contact with heated portion of water container. Stir water continuously. Connector terminal portion of sensor should be
held .12 inch above water level. Resistance should be approximately 300 ohms at 176°F.

3.

Apply sealant to threaded portion of sensor when installing, then torque sensor to 15 - 28 ft. lbs. Fasten harness connectors securely.
