1. Connect ammeters to actuator side connector, Fig. 37.
2. Current should be cut off when selector is turned in Pull (fully open) direction for full stroke. Ammeter A1 should read 0.5-0.7 amps. Ammeter A2

should read less than 0.5 amps, when current is on.

3. If selector moves in Pull direction, ammeter reads 0.5-0.7 amps, but ammeter A2 reads 1 amp or more, check the following:

a. Improper gear backlash, burning between shaft and metal, or insufficient thrust clearance.

4. If selector does not move, ammeter A1 reads 0.5-0.7 amps and ammeter A2 reads 1 amp or more, check the following:

a. Burned shaft or motor, or foreign material caught between gears.

5. If selector does not move, ammeter A1 reads 0.3-0.7 amps and ammeter A2 reads 0.0 amps, check the following:

a. Damaged or disconnected internal lead wire or motor wiring, poor contact of limit switch, or open diode.

6. With selector stroke in the intermediate level, disconnect connection to terminal 1, then cut the current flow to the clutch coil.
7. If selector does not return to original position, even if current is cut to the clutch coil, check for clutch plate remaining engaged with clutch.

1. Connect ammeters to actuator side connector, Fig. 38.
2. Turn selector in the Release (fully closed), direction. Current should be cut off, ammeter A1 should read 0.5-0.7 amps, ammeter A2 should read

less than 0.5 amps when current is on.

3. If the selector moves in the Release direction, ammeter reads 0.5-0.7 amps, but ammeter A2 reads 1 amp or more, check the following:

a. Improper gear backlash, burning between shaft and metal, or insufficient thrust clearance.

4. If selector does not move, ammeter A1 reads 0.5-0.7 amps, but ammeter A2 reads 1 amp or more, check the following:

a. Burned shaft or motor, or foreign material caught between gears.

5. If selector does not move, ammeter A1 reads 0.30007 amps and ammeter A2 reads 0.0 amps, check the following:

a. Damaged or disconnected internal lead wire or motor wiring, poor limit switch contact, or open diode.
