Fig. 21 Rocker Shaft Spring Installation
a. If rocker arm shaft was disassembled, temporarily tighten rocker arm shaft bolt so all rocker arms on inlet side do not push valves. Install
rocker arm shaft spring from above and position at right angle to plug guide, Fig. 21.
b. Tighten rocker arm shaft bolts to specification.
c. Using seal installation tool, No. MD998713-01, or equivalent, install camshaft seal.
d. Install distributor as outlined under Distributor section.
e. Adjust timing belt tension as outlined under Timing Belt.
f.
Adjust valve clearance as outlined under Cylinder Head Assembly.
