Wheel Hub & Steering Knuckle

When replacing drive hub and knuckle assembly, refer to Fig. 1.

1. Raise and support vehicle, then remove front wheels.
2. Remove cotter pin, wheel bearing nut and washer.
3. Disconnect brake caliper assembly and support using suitable wire.
4. Disconnect lower control arm ball joint from knuckle using a suitable tool.
5. Disconnect tie rod end from knuckle using a suitable tool.
6. Remove driveshaft from hub, then the circlip.
7. Remove hub and knuckle as an assembly from strut assembly.
8. Reverse procedure to install.

Hub Service

1. Attach tool Nos. MB990998-01 and MB991056, or equivalents, to knuckle and hub, then secure knuckle in vise.
2. Remove hub from knuckle by tightening nut of tool.
