Intake Manifold: Service and Repair
1.
Disconnect battery ground cable, then drain engine coolant.
2.
Remove carburetor assembly, then the gasket.
3.
Disconnect engine coolant hoses, then the heater hoses.
4.
Disconnect vacuum hoses from manifold, then the brake booster vacuum hose.
5.
On models with A/C, disconnect water temperature switch connector.
6.
On all models, disconnect water temperature sensor, then the water temperature gauge unit.
7.
Disconnect thermo switch.
8.
Remove intake manifold attaching bolts, then the intake manifold and gasket.
9.
Reverse procedure to install. Refer to specifications for intake manifold attaching bolt torque.
