Steering Gear: Service and Repair
Removal and Replacement

1.

Remove clamp bolt that connects steering shaft to steering gear mainshaft.

2.

Using tools MB990716 and MB990717 or equivalents, disconnect pressure and return hoses from steering gear.

3.

Using MB990635 or equivalent, disconnect pitman arm from relay rod.

4.

Remove steering gear.

5.

Using tool MB990915 or equivalent, remove pitman arm from steering gear.

6.

Reverse procedure to install.
