Apply grease to the splines on both upper and lower shaft assemblies. Use multipurpose grease SAE J-310A, NLGI grade #2. (See figure 3.)

Assemble the two shafts, taking care that the yokes are aligned within +/- 5~ as illustrated in 

Figure 4.

Slide the upper and lower boots over the U-joints, aligning the arrows on the boots with the slots in the U-joint yokes as in Figure 5.

Note:

a spray of WD-40 helps the boots slip into place without excessive force or risk of tearing.
