Clutch Disc: Service and Repair

Fig. 13 Disengaging release fork

1.

Insert tool MB998127 or equivalent in center hole to prevent dropping of clutch disc.

2.

Diagonally loosen bolts that hold clutch cover assembly and remove assembly.

3.

Slide release fork in direction of arrow, Fig. 13, to disengage fulcrum from clip.

4.

Pack release fork fulcrum hole and release cylinder pushrod hole with grease.

5.

Pack grease in groove on release bearing inside diameter.

6.

Clean clutch facing and pressure plate with clean cloth.

7.

Lightly grease clutch disc spline and main drive gear spline of transmission.

8.

Using tool MB998127 or equivalent, install clutch disc and clutch cover assembly on flywheel. When installing clutch disc, make certain that
surface with manufacturer's stamped mark is on pressure plate side.
