Purpose
This bulletin provides instructions for replacing Mitsubishi Authorized Accessory Montero trailer hitches manufactured through January 1993.
Mitsubishi Motor Sales of America, Inc (MMSA) has determined that the hitch receiver weld could potentially fracture causing hitch separation. These
hitches were manufactured by Reese Products and marketed by MMSA.
Please note, the customer is not to be charged for the trailer hitch replacement described by this bulletin.
AFFECTED TRAILER HITCH
Affected part number: AMR2YH1X01
Marketed as a Mitsubishi Motors Authorized Accessory for 1992-93 Montero vehicles.
This hitch was sold by Mitsubishi Motor Sales of America, Inc. starting in May 1992 through January 1993. Units available after March 1993 are of a
later style and are not affected by this recall (see Hitch Identification)
Note:
The hitch was marketed for 92- 93 vehicles, however some 1991 Montero vehicles may have the hitch installed.
