Fan Clutch: Testing and Inspection
1. Inspect fan clutch for fluid leaks at case joints and seals. Fluid loss will result in decreased fan rotation and engine overheating.
2. Rotate fan by hand. If moderate resistance is noted, fan clutch operation is satisfactory; if little or no resistance is felt, fan clutch should be
replaced.
3. Inspect bi-metal strip, Fig. 1, for signs of damage.
