Evaporator Case: Service and Repair
INSTALLATION SERVICE POINTS
EVAPORATOR INSTALLATION
When replacing the evaporator with new one, refill the evaporator with a specified amount of compressor oil and install it to the vehicle.
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Discharge refrigerant from system into appropriate recovery device, then disconnect evaporator inlet pipe and suction hose. Plug openings to
prevent contamination.
3. Remove drain hose.
4. Remove glove compartment stopper, then the glove compartment.
5. Remove speaker grille.
6. Remove lower frame and foot shower duct.
7. Disconnect air conditioner wiring harness.
8. Remove evaporator unit.
9. Remove air conditioner control unit.
10. Remove evaporator case halves retaining screws and clips.
11. Separate case halves, then remove air thermo sensor, air inlet sensor and expansion valve.
12. Remove high/low pressure extension pipe.
13. Remove evaporator assembly.
