7. Apply Mitsubishi Genuine Part No. MD970389, or equivalent sealant, around the gasket surface of the oil pan as shown.
NOTE: The sealant should be applied in a continuous bead approximately 4 mm (0.16 inch) in diameter.
8. Install the oil pan to the cylinder block within 30 minutes after applying the sealant.
9. Tighten the oil pan mounting bolts in the order shown to 6 Nm (4 ft. lbs.).
CAUTION: The bolt holes for bolts 15 and 16 in the illustration are cut away on the transmission side, so be careful not to insert these bolts at an
angle.
