1. Connect scan tool MB991502 to the data link connector.
2. When the transmitter "PANIC" switch is operated (turned on), check that scan tool MB991502 sounds.

Q: Does scan tool MB991502 sound when the transmitter "PANIC" switch is operated?

YES: Replace the ETACS-ECU. Check that the panic alarm works normally.

NO: Refer to Inspection Procedure R-9 "The ETACS-ECU does not receive signal from lock, unlock or panic switch.

CIRCUIT OPERATION

The ETACS-ECU operates the following equipment according to signal from the ignition switch (ACC):

Windshield wiper and washer

Rear wiper and washer

If the signal is not normal, the equipment, which is described in "CIRCUIT OPERATION", does network normally.
