PROCEDURE

For additional sunroof motor/ECU assembly replacement information, refer to the Service Manual and TSB-01-42A-012.

Condition (A): Non-operation of Sunroof
Proceed with the following procedures beginning with Step 1.

Condition (B): Erratic Sunroof Operation
For the erratic operation condition, go to Step 4 for instructions for tightening of repairing the sunroof motor ground point.

NOTE:

The headliner must be removed to access the sunroof motor assembly ground point Refer to the service manual.

Reset (wake-up) the sunroof motor/ECU by turning the ignition switch ON and OFF 5 times while the sunroof switch is held in the closed position.
Does the motor move slightly?

If YES, go to Step 3 and replace the sunroof motor/ECU assembly. If the motor DOES NOT operate, further diagnosis of the sunroof motor
circuitry is needed. Refer the the service manual and TSB-02-54-001 to diagnose and repair the sunroof motor circuit.

Replace the sunroof motor/ECU assembly. The sunroof ECU is incorporated into the sunroof motor assembly. Refer to TSB-01-42A-012. Sunroof
motor replacement requires removal of the headliner. Refer also to the service manual. After the motor is replaced, go to Step 4 for instructions for
checking, tightening and/or repairing the sunroof motor ground point.

NOTE:

A newly installed sunroof motor/ECU assembly has no learned logic data and must be initialized. Initialization instructions are in Step 5 of this
bulletin.

NOTE:

Make sure the ECU vendor production number on the motor/ECU assembly is M95 33 010A or this same number with a subsequent suffix letter at
the end of the vendor number. This number is printed in white paint on the ECU cover. The "A" or subsequent suffix (B, C, D, etc.) at the end of the
vendor production number indicates the new updated motor/ECU assembly Do not use the part if there is no suffix on the vendor number. It is not of
the updated type.
