Inspection Procedure 31: Motor Antenna Extends, Retracts But Doesn't Receive

Diagnosis

STEP 1. Is the antenna normal?

Check the continuity shown.
If the antenna is in good condition go to Step 2. 
If the antenna is defective, repair or replace the antenna. Check that the malfunction is eliminated.

STEP 2. Does the antenna operate normally when a new antenna assembly is directly installed to the radio?

If yes, replace the motor antenna assembly. Check that the malfunction is eliminated.
If no, the radio and tape player may be defective. Carry out troubleshooting of the radio and tape player. (Refer to P.54-109  )
