CAUTION

Use care to prevent damaging the shift cable when cutting the sponge insulator.

Slide the 1-inch section of sponge insulator to the shift cable bracket.

NOTE

If the sponge insulator is difficult to slide, it may be necessary to break the adhesive sealing it to the cable. 

5.

Remove the shift cable bracket bolt. Pry open the bracket and insert the sponge insulator in the bracket as shown.

6.

Tighten the bracket bolt to 12 Nm (106 in/lb).
