REVISIONS RELATED TO CLUTCH PEDAL(INTERLOCK SWITCH AND NEW RETURN SPRING) - SERVICE MANUAL REVISION

PURPOSE
This bulletin contains the following additions, revisions, and corrections related to the clutch pedal.

Clutch Interlock Switch - Beginning with January, 1997 production, the clutch interlock switch is changed from one mounted with a jam nut to a
new style clip-in switch. The new style switch uses a separate wiring harness whereas the old style switch harness was integral to the switch. New
illustrations and adjustment procedures relating to the clip type switch are included in this bulletin. This new style interlock switch is now used on
ALL 1998 manual transmission equipped Montero Sport vehicles, both 4-cylinder 2.4L and V-6 3.0L.

Clutch Pedal Return Spring Beginning with June, 1997 production, a return spring is added to the clutch pedal on the 4-cylinder, 2.4L Montero Sport
ES. This bulletin adds the reference to this new spring.
