6. Install the extension shaft to the control lever. Do not use a vise to hold the control lever. Hold the top edge of the control shaft with a wrench and
tighten it to 6 kgf/m (43 ft/lbs).
IMPORTANT:
Applying excessive turning torque between the extension shaft and the control lever assembly will create excessive free play inside the control lever.
This will cause the rattling noise to return.
7. Verify proper control lever operation.
8. Reinstall the floor console as described in Group 52A of the appropriate service manual.
