4. Check that the tone alarm stops sounding when terminal number 6 is connected to ground.
If the tone alarm stops sounding, go to Step 9.
If the tone alarm does not stop sounding, go to Step 10.
STEP 9. Check harness connector D-16 at the key reminder switch for damage.
If harness connector D-16 is damaged, repair or replace it. Refer to Harness Connector Inspection. Go to Step 12.
If harness connector D-16 is in good condition, go to Step 10.
STEP 10. Check the harness wires between key reminder switch connector D-16 and body ground.
If the harness wires between key reminder switch connector D-16 and body ground are damaged, repair them. Go to Step 12.
If the harness wires are in good condition, replace the ETACS-ECU or tone alarm-ECU. Go to Step 11.
