Shift Interlock: Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures

Inspection Procedure 1

INSPECTION PROCEDURE 1

Selector lever can be moved from "P" to "R" without depressing brake pedal when ignition key is at positions other than "LOCK".

TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION (COMMENT)
Lock cam or shift lock cable may be defective.

DIAGNOSIS
Check items described in the column "Troubleshooting hints." Confirm that the selector lever cannot be moved from the "P" position to the "R"
position unless the brake pedal is depressed while the ignition key is at a position other than "LOCK".

Selector lever cannot be moved from "P" to "R" with brake pedal depressed when ignition key is at positions other than "LOCK".
