2-3 UPSHIFT FLARE

This bulletin supercedes TSB-03-23-005, issued September, 2003, to update the affected vehicles. Revised information is indicated by -->.

PURPOSE

Shift flare during the 2nd-to-3rd gear upshift may be due to learned data in the PCM.

To eliminate this upshift flare, follow the procedures in this bulletin to determine whether valve body replacement is necessary.

AFFECTED VEHICLES

--> 2000-2004 Montero Sport models produced between 2/00 and 10/03

PROCEDURE

FOR 2000 AND 2001 MODELS ONLY:

Verify the PCM has the most current software database. Refer to the table below:

If necessary, reprogram the PCM, using MUT-III automatic reprogramming.
