Montero Sport XS 2WD V6-3.5L SOHC (2001)
Measure the resistance between the driver's side door switch body (metal section) and ground.
Q: Is the resistance less than two Ohms?
YES: Go to Step 5.
NO: Repair the harness wire or connector. Then check that the malfunction is eliminated.
STEP 5. Check the driver's side door switch connector E-33 input circuit
1. Disconnect the driver's side door switch connector E-33 and the harness side.
2. Measure the voltage between terminal 2 and ground.
Q: Is the voltage approximately 5 volts?
YES: There is no action to be taken.
NO: Go to Step 6.
STEP 6. Check the driver's side door switch connector E-33 for damage.
Q: Is the driver's side door switch connector E-33 damaged?
YES: Repair or replace it. Refer to Harness Connector Inspection. The tachometer should work normally.
NO: Go to Step 7.
