Front Crankshaft Seal: Service and Repair
1. Remove the timing belt.
2. Refer to the illustration for the service procedure, noting the following:
3. Cut out a portion in the camshaft oil seal lip.
4. Cover the tip of a screwdriver with a cloth and apply it to the cutout in the oil seal to pry off the oil seal.
CAUTION: Use care not to damage the crankshaft and oil pump case.
5. Using front seal installer tool No. MD998717, or equivalent, knock the oil seal into the oil pump case.
NOTE: Knock it as far as the surface.
