It is critical to install the cone straight. Examples show typical misaligned cone installation. DO NOT install cone as shown.
Do not use the lug nut holes for aligning the wheel on the balancer. Do not use lug-centering (finger-type) wheel balancing equipment. This method is
not accurate on 2001 Monteros because the wheels are machined to center on the hub, not on the lug nut holes.

IMPORTANT: Balance the tire/wheel assembly. After balancing, loosen the tire/wheel assembly and rotate it 180 degrees on the balancer.
Resecure it to the balancer and re-balance.

If still not in balance, the cone mounting was incorrect. Use a cone more appropriately-sized for the wheel, or try mounting the cone from
the opposite side of the wheel.
