FRONT INNER FENDER LINER (SPLASH SHIELD)
DAMAGED
PURPOSE
The front inner fender liner (splash shield) may deform due to wind pressure when driving at high speed during hot weather. Suspension travel may allow
a tire to contact and damage the deformed shield.
NOTE:
The left splash shield of vehicles equipped with V6 engines is damaged most often.
This TSB provides instructions to replace deformed and damaged front inner fender liners with reinforced parts listed in the Parts Information section of
this TSB.

PROCEDURE
Replace the damaged splash shield following instructions in Group 42A - SPLASH SHIELD in the service manual.
NOTE:
Pay attention to fastener locations. There are 4 (four) different types of push-pin retaining clips and one bolt (10 mm head) used for the splash shield.
Fasteners MUST be installed in their original location.
