This bulletin contains instructions for tightening the camshaft drive belt on 4G6 engines (1.8L, 2.0L, and 2.4L engines) to increase belt tension and
eliminate a source of engine noise at idle and low rpm. The belt-tensioning procedure in the 1985 Service Manuals is still valid for non-airconditioned
cars and all 2.0L trucks; this new procedure applies to air-conditioned cars. As reference to this bulletin, please write the STB number in the revision box
on Page 9-35 of the 1985 Truck Service Manual.
