Remove the seal plate from the front case by inserting Special Tool MIT 304516 thru the wick seal and tapping out the seal plate.

Turn Special  Tool MIT 304516 over and tap out the wick seal from the opposite end of the front case.

REASSEMBLY

1)

Liberally apply A/C oil to the new shaft seal and fit it on the compressor shaft.

CAUTION: Rotate the shaft seal until it engages in the locating flats of the compressor shaft.

Install the wick seal (capped side up) into the front case, using Special Tool MIT 304516. Lightly tap the seal until seated without bending the cap,
DO NOT OIL THE WICK SEAL.
