SHUDDER WHILE BRAKING
This bulletin revises and replaces TSB-06-35-001REV, to correct the warranty information. Revised information is indicated by black arrow.
PURPOSE
Some customers may complain of a vibration or shudder in the brake pedal when the brakes are applied at highway speeds. To eliminate this condition,
replace the rear brake shoes with the new, improved brake parts as described in this bulletin. If the front brake rotors have not been previously replaced,
resurface the front brake rotors with an approved on-car brake lathe.

PROCEDURE
1.
Verify that the parking brake system is functioning properly. Refer to Group 36 in the Raider service manual.
2.
Raise the vehicle. Remove both rear wheel and tire assemblies.
3.
Remove and discard the clip nuts securing the brake drum to wheel studs.
4.
Remove the brake drum.
a.
If the drum is difficult to remove, remove the rear plug from the access hole in the support plate. Back-off self adjuster by inserting a thin
screwdriver into the access hole and push lever away from the adjuster star wheel. Then insert an adjuster tool into the brake adjusting hole and
rotate the adjuster star wheel to retract the brake shoes.
5.
Install the new rear brake shoe kit (listed in the PARTS INFORMATION section of this bulletin) as described below.
IMPORTANT:
The rear brake shoe kit comes already assembled. It is designed to be installed as an assembly. Do not disassemble the kit.
6.
Use brake parts cleaner to clean the individual brake components, including the support plate and wheel cylinder exterior.
