GENERIC PCM REPLACEMENT ON RAIDER
PURPOSE
All replacement PCMS for Raider models are blank (generic) when received from Parts. After the generic PCM is installed in the vehicle, it must be
programmed in order for the vehicle to operate. The VIN and mileage must also be programmed. Poor vehicle performance will result if programming is
not completed. This bulletin contains instructions for programming the replacement PCM, VIN and vehicle mileage.

PROCEDURE
CAUTION
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO PROGRAM A PCM TAKEN FROM ANOTHER VEHICLE. DAMAGE WILL OCCUR! BATTERY VOLTAGE (AS
MEASURED AT THE BATTERY POSTS WITHOUT ELECTRICAL LOAD) MUST BE 12.4V OR HIGHER IN ORDER TO PROGRAM THE
PCM.
The equipment shown is needed to program a generic PCM.
1.
After the generic PCM has been installed in the vehicle, connect the equipment as follows:
a.
Start the laptop computer.
b.
Connect the USB cable to the VCI.
c.
When the laptop displays the MUT-III main screen, connect the USB cable to the laptop.
d.
Connect the blue MUT-III main harness to the VCI.
e.
Connect the other end of the blue MUT-III main harness to the vehicle's data link connector.
f.
Turn the VCI power switch ON. Verify that the indicator lamp in the upper right corner of the screen is green.
NOTE:
If the USB cable is disconnected during this procedure, a warning message will display. Close the message display by clicking on the OK
button.
