PCM REPROGRAMMING FOR DTCS P0340 AND/OR P0344
PURPOSE
On some affected vehicles, incorrect software parameters in the PCM may cause the MIL (Malfunction Indicator Lamp) to illuminate and store one or
more of the following Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs):
^ P0340 - Camshaft Position Sensor Circuit - Bank 1, Sensor 1
^ P0344 - Camshaft Position Sensor Intermittent - Bank 1
To eliminate this condition, reprogram the PCM according to instructions in this bulletin.

DIAGNOSIS
Using the MUT-III, verify all engine systems are functioning as designed and read DTCs. If DTCs other than those listed in the Purpose section above
are present, diagnose and repair them as necessary prior to proceeding further with this bulletin.
THE FOLLOWING EQUIPMENT IS NEEDED TO REPROGRAM THE PCM.
^ Battery Charger
^ VCI (Vehicle Communication Interface) - MB991824
^ Laptop computer - 520924, 528535 or 547708
^ MUT-III main harness A (blue) - MB991910
^ USB 2.0 cable - MB991827
^ "Engine Compartment/Control Module" labels - p/n MSSF024G00
^ MEDIC-II at version 5.5 or higher, MUT-III STV at version 21.0 or higher.
