ABS CONTROL MODULE - SAFETY RECALL CAMPAIGN
PURPOSE
The Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) control module may cause the rear brakes to lock up during certain braking conditions. This could result in a loss of
vehicle control and cause a crash without warning. Replace the ABS control module as described in this bulletin.
AFFECTED VEHICLES
2006 Raider 4 wheel drive models equipped with ABS
CUSTOMER NOTIFICATION
A letter will be sent to all owners of affected vehicles telling them to bring their vehicle to their Mitsubishi Motors dealer to have the ABS control
module replaced. A copy of the customer notification letter is shown in this bulletin.
REQUIRED OPERATIONS
Before starting this campaign procedure, CHECK ON THE WARRANTY SUPERSCREEN to verify that the vehicle is an affected VIN for this
campaign and that this campaign procedure has not already been completed.
Note:
The MUT-III scan tool must be used to initialize the new ABS control module after installation.
1.
Record the radio presets and disconnect the negative battery cable at the battery.
2.
Locate the ABS control module under the Power Distribution Center. Clean the exterior of the ABS control module to prevent dirt from falling
into the hydraulic control unit when the ABS control module is removed.
3.
Pull up on the ABS control module harness connector lock and disconnect the wiring from the ABS control module.
