Engine - Whistle Noise From Engine Compartment

This TSB supercedes TSB-07-13-003, issued January, 2007, to revise the PURPOSE section, update the AFFECTED VEHICLES section,and the labor
operation number. Revised information is indicated by -->.

PURPOSE
--> A slight high frequency (pitch) whistle-like sound may be heard while driving at any ambient temperature or engine temperature. The noise is most
noticeable under load, with light throttle between 1,200 to 2,000 RPM.

AFFECTED VEHICLES

--> 2007 Raider 3.7L V6 only produced on or before March 12, 2007

PROCEDURE

1.

Record the radio presets and disconnect the negative battery cable.

2.

Disconnect the intake air temperature sensor.

3.

Remove the air intake tube at the throttle body.

4.

Remove the four throttle body mounting bolts. Then remove the throttle body from the intake manifold and place to the side.

5.

Check the condition of the throttle body-to-intake manifold 0-ring and replace if necessary.

6.

Clean mating surfaces of throttle body and intake manifold.
