Technical Service Bulletin # 08-23-007

Engine Controls - TC Shudder/Harsh 1-2/2-3 Shift
No: TSB-08-23-007
DATE: July, 2008
MODEL: 2007 Raider 3.7L
SUBJECT:
TORQUE CONVERTOR CLUTCH (TCC) SHUDDER OR 1-2 OR 2-3 HARSH SHIFT
PURPOSE
The customer may experience either or both of the following conditions:
1.
The feeling of the vehicle being driven over rumble strips or railroad tracks. The condition can be duplicated during steady state driving with the
torque converter in partial lockup operation. It can only be experienced after the torque converter break-in has been successfully completed (Refer
to Confirming TCC Brake-In-Status for instructions on determining TCC Break-in Status). The shudder is typically noticed when the transmission
temperature is between 38°C and 54°C (100°F and 130°F) during steady state driving with the torque convertor in partial lock operation. To
eliminate this condition, replace the torque convertor and reprogram the PCM according to the instructions in this bulletin.
2.
A harshness felt when the transmission is shifting gears between 1-2 or 2-3. To eliminate this condition, reprogram the PCM according to the
instructions in this bulletin.

limp-in mode after engine start. If there is a reprogramming label on the underside of the hood and the ROM ID on the label matches the New Part
No. listed in the chart below, the vehicle's software is to the latest specification and reprogramming is not necessary.
