REMOVAL

1.

Remove cylinder head as previously described.

2.

Remove jet valve assembly, using tool No. MD998310. Make sure tool is square with respect to center of jet valve. If tool is tilted, valve
stem may be bent by force of valve spring retainer.

3.

Using a suitable valve spring compressor, remove intake valve retainer lock, marking relative position of each to facilitate installation, Fig. 6.

4.

Remove valve spring retainer, then the valve spring.

5.

Remove valve spring seat, then the intake valves.

6.

Remove and discard valve stem seals, then the intake valve guides and seats.

7.

Using a suitable valve spring compressor, remove exhaust valve retainer lock, marking relative position of each to facilitate installation.

8.

Remove valve spring retainer, then the valve spring.

9.

Remove valve spring seat, then the exhaust valves.

10.

Remove and discard valve stem seals, then the exhaust valve guides and seats.

INSTALLATION

1.

Reverse disassembly procedure to assemble and note the following: 

a. Apply engine oil to each valve. Insert valves into guides, using care not to damage seal.
b. Valve spring should be installed with identification color side directed toward valve spring retainer.
c. Using a suitable valve spring compressor, compress spring and install retainer lock.
