Heater Core: Service and Repair

1.
Disconnect battery ground cable.
2.
Move temperature control lever to Warm position and drain engine coolant.
3.
Remove instrument cluster. Refer to ``Instrument Cluster, Replace.''
4.
Remove both left and right side dash panel side covers.
5.
On Cordia, remove fuse block from dash panel, then disconnect fuse block electrical connector.
6.
On Tredia, remove defroster trim attaching nut, then pry off trim using suitable tool.
7.
On all models, disconnect electrical connector from lower blower case.
8.
Remove console upper attaching screws, Fig. 25.
9.
Remove steering column assembly from pedal support member.
10.
Disconnect antenna lead wire from antenna.

11.
Remove dash panel bolts and nuts, then remove panel, Fig. 26.
12.
Disconnect center ventilation duct.
13.
Disconnect rear heater duct A, then disconnect heater hose at heater core housing and remove housing.
14.
Remove heater core from housing.
15.
Reverse procedure to install.
